The most archaic and labour intense of them, agriculture constitutes the foundations of our food chain and cultural evolution.  Out of all agricultural operations, the process of harvesting is the one that has inspired the most rituals and created a collective imaginary across the centuries. Harvesting marks the end of the growing season and celebrates the success of the production process, provides the satisfaction of collecting the crops and initiates the processing of them into food products such as flour and bread.
